VSC-2: installation complete
The hardware installation of the VSC-2 at the Arsenal TU building (object 214) was completed in May.
1.314 compute nodes are housed in 30 racks. The nodes are connected via a high-speed InfiniBand network. In total the VSC-2 has 21.024 cores.
The following weeks until the end of June will be dedicated to intensive testing of performance, stability, and energy consumption. We expect that the results of the LINPACK benchmark will yield a good ranking of the VSC-2 within the first 100 of the TOP500 list.
It is planned that regular user operation will start in July.
