VSC user workshop in Neusiedl am See, February 27-28, 2012
The workshop will focus on sharing the experiences with VSC-1 and VSC-2 and on discussing possible specifications of VSC-3 and successor systems. Detailed planning of the VSC-3, the third "Vienna Scientific Cluster", will begin immediately after the workshop and the system VSC-3 is expected to begin operation early in 2013.
The workshop will take place February 27-28, 2012, at 
Hotel Wende, Seestraße 40, 7100 Neusiedl am See. Please note that the nearest railway station is 'Neusiedl am See Bad' with direct connections from 'Wien Hauptbahnhof'.
There will be talks, poster sessions, and discussions about the following topics:
* Presentations (invited talks and poster sessions) of research projects on VSC-1 and VSC-2, covering as broad a field as possible of research areas and computer codes used. The future needs of these and similar projects will be discussed. Additionally, small workshops will be held where specific questions and concerns can be considered in more detail.
* Presentation of state-of-the-art HPC technologies (CPUs, GPUs, networks, storage, software, etc.) and discussions about the technical specifications for VSC-3.
* Discussion about HPC collaboration in Austria.
All presentations will be given in English.
